MAHOGANY COFFEE TABLES
David and Jayne have a magnificent home in Hipperholme, near Halifax. The living room is a wonderful space; the small picture shows the fantastic “inglenook” fireplace that is the focal point of it. The fireplace is made from mahogany, and beautifully French Polished.
What was wanted was a pair of tables that can act either as one long table between sofas, or two separate tables within the room.
I used sapele, an environmentally friendly equivalent of mahogany, and adopted a simple and substantial design to compliment the scale of the room. They were French Polished by the same person who refurbished the existing woodwork in the room to ensure a perfect match.
