BUILT-IN STORAGE SYSTEM

A real “boy’s room” here. Loads of DVD’s, CD’s and audio-visual gear needed to be housed, as well as the PC, printer, PS2 games console, etc. etc.

But the girls in the house wanted it looking good as well.

A deceptively simple brief. The room is not square, there are 2 brick uprights on the wall (the TV just fits between them), and the ceiling moves (don’t they all, after you have painted them).

There are 24 power sockets built into the cupboard behind the desk, and more cables than you can shake a stick at linking the DVD player and amp to the TV. There are surround sound speaker cables hidden behind the cupboards, and recessed lighting in the top of the bookcases.
